At Affect, we care about supporting our local community through a variety of charitable organizations and activities. For our team, it also provides an opportunity to connect with the community in which we live and work, and to make a difference. This year, we participated in three unique initiatives:

New York Cares Winter Wishes

This gift-giving program serves over 42,000 underprivileged children and families in NYC, who may not get holiday gifts due to financial constraints. The Affect team loves receiving their hand crafted holiday letters that let us know what they want most this year. The team then has a fun time selecting just the right present, and when the items arrive, hosts a wrapping party to get them all prepared for gifting.

One Book at a Time Program

Through the One Book at a Time Program, the team partners with a New York City elementary school (this year PS360) to donate books that help promote reading. To make the process even more personal, each employee is paired up with a student pen pal for the entirety of the program. Through these letters, our team members help the kids become more excited about reading and trade fun stories about their favorite pastimes, holidays, subjects in school and more.

New York Cares Coat Drive

The coat drive strives to help the thousands of New Yorkers who are in need of heavy coats for the winter season. At Affect, we fundraise among our employees while also extending the opportunity for clients and other companies in the building to participate.

These experiences enable our team to give back and remember those who are in need this season. Seeing the how happy the children are with their new books and gifts help to lifts our spirits as we are able to spread some warm holiday cheer.

So many charitable institutions to help. In fact, you don’t even need to go out looking for them this Christmas season. It really pays to give.
