By Lulu Li | On September 22, 2015

Social media is considered an essential part to any communications strategy, especially in today’s digital environment. Forbes contributor, Carmine Gallo, was so pleasantly surprised by Cathay Pacific’s responsiveness and personalized interactions that he connected with Dennis Owen, the group manager for social media at Cathay Pacific Airways, to discuss the keys to success.

Owen shared these three tips:

  1. Create a position 100% dedicated to social media
  2. Provide great customer service offline and online
  3. Play to the channel’s strengths

Owen also added, “We see social media as a way to build relationships with our customers through two way dialogues. We will always strive to be better at what we do and relationships via social media allow us to do just that.”
